Hi friends! Today we will learn how
we should be healthy by nutrition. Is it curious to know? Yes friends come on
let’s get in to the topic without delay.
As there is fundamental or basic is
mandatory for everything, it happens to health also. For health the fundamental
is “NUTRITION”. Where do we get nutrition? Of course it is through diet. So we
can firmly say “DIET” is fundamental to “NUTRITION” and “NUTRITION” is
fundamental to “HEALTH”.
So in this post, we are going to
know very briefly about basics of nutrition and diet and also please do check out with WHO(World Health Organization) to get important of healthy diet.
As we know we get nutrition through
diet, we must know what the diet i.e. food composed of? In general it is
composed of Macro and Micro nutrients. What! Macro... Micro… Yes whatever
edible food you consume contains Macro and Micro nutrients.
Let us know each of them in brief
Macro-nutrients:
This
component contains 1.carbohydrate
2. Proteins
3. Fats
They are required by our body in
large quantities which is why it is named as Macro. These components give us
energy which is measured by calories.
Carbohydrates:
carbs
after digestion gets converted to glucose which gives us essential and
immediate source of energy to our body thus helps us to do our daily activities
like walking, talking, running and also helps every organ in our body to
function properly.
Proteins:
Proteins after digestion get
converted to amino acids which are the main source for our muscle building and
it does various other functions. Hence gymnastics, bodybuilders focus more
protein in their diet.
Fats:
Fats
after digestion get converted to fatty acids which help to produce hormones in
our body and also provide energy when carbohydrate is available in our body.
Really! Yes it is. But keep in mind Trans-fat a variant of fat which is not
good for health. You will come to know more about this in later post.
Micro-Nutrients:
These
composed of 1. Vitamins
2.
Minerals.
As the name suggests us that it
required by our body in low quantities. But is very essential by our body to do
various functions. Though vitamins and minerals needed by our body in low
quantity; deficiency of these Will leads to numerous health problems. So
it is necessary for us to know that are we taking these nutrients properly and
regularly.
Calories:
The main source of energy which is
measured in calories is through Macro-nutrients. Ohhh! So let us grossly
calculate how much calorie we get from each of them below:
Carbs- 4 calories per gram
Proteins- 4 calories per gram
Fats- 9 calories per gram
Oh my god! Fats are the highest
calorie yielding among the three.
Calories and body weight:
One general rule is that "The less the calories you
utilize the more the body weight you gain". So the amount of
calories we take must be burnt to avoid obese, overweight problems.
So start doing physical activities like jogging, swimming, playing sports in playground. It helps to refresh your mind and you feel more active. In the following post let us learn everything in detail with regards to diet and nutrition in detail. Eat good food and stay healthy.
